GOALTENDER INTERFERENCE – ILLUSTRATED SIGNED PAPERBACKS
While I’d really love to be that super-organized author who always has my shit together, last summer’s migraines really set me back when it comes to bigger projects. This summer, the migraines are significantly better (but not completely gone) so I am trying to be careful not to overload myself. So although someday I hope to have illustrations and merch done before a book is finished that hasn’t been my reality lately. My more realistic goal was to get them out before the fin

WHAT I’M UP TO …
Uhh, so if you didn’t already know by now, sometimes the ADHD strikes hard. I’ve been blathering on about James recording Flipping the Switch but, uh, that is in fact not the next book in the series! Kim finally pointed out that Made to Order comes next. Not sure how I forgot about my subby Army vet and his bossy chef, but well, somehow I managed it. It was no big deal. I hadn’t sent the files to James yet but it meant I needed to make a very quick pivot to get everything re

ILLUSTRATED PAPERBACKS – NOW ON AMAZON
If you love my illustrated paperbacks, but live in a place where you can’t order them directly from my Shop, you can now buy them on Amazon! They should be available in all countries and both the Rules of the Game series and the Relationship Goals series are available (Scoring Chances will be coming in August). Because of the way Amazon sets up paperback pre-orders for alternate editions, I can’t link you directly to the series but if you click the button below it’ll take you

WHAT I’M UP TO …
The weather went full-on summer in the past week, and I went for a lovely (if ridiculously hot and humid) hike on Sunday. I got to enjoy nature (including seeing a relatively rare bird for this area –a pileated woodpecker!) and hang out with a friend I haven’t seen in months. We grabbed lunch and watched a movie after and it was a really nice way to spend the day. My Baby Pens are still doing very well in the Calder Cup playoffs so I’m having fun watching the newish prospec

BARGAIN BINS AND SIGNED BOOKPLATES
I know how expensive everything is right now and there are always lovely, shiny new things in the book world to buy. I always try my best to make everything on my Shop as affordable as possible. Since Amazon tends to bang up our books a lot when they ship, when faced with a stack of books with creases, scuffs, and dings, Kim had the brilliant idea of creating Brigham’s Bargain Bin where we offer books with relatively minor damage at a 25% discount. This is great news if you’r

SPECIAL EDITION COVERS
Throws confetti Now that Kim has finished settling into her new house and I am done traveling everywhere, we have a little more time to focus on the Brigham Vaughn Shop. Today I am excited to announce that illustrated paperbacks are now available on my Shop! I was so excited to create the illustrated special edition paperbacks with the help of Colleen Malley. She’s such a talented artist and I love the way she illustrated my characters. I got so many compliments on the

WHAT I’M UP TO …
So, this has been a rough week, huh? Let’s all take a deep breath, hold it for a few seconds, then breathe out slowly together. It’s been incredibly hard to focus on writing and promoting books. Lately, I’ve been able to create some compartmentalization where I do what I can, when I can (calling reps, showing up to protests, making donations) but try to be 100% present for my writing and all of the other parts of being an author. Some of it comes from spite. I REFUSE to let

CHEAP SHOT COVER & BLURB REVEAL
I feel like I’ve kept you waiting foreverrr for the Cheap Shot cover and blurb. Between travel, events, and struggling to find the perfect Luke, it’s taken a while. Big thanks to Kim, who helped me realize that I’d found the right guy on Wander Aguilar’s website, even if the shot wasn’t perfect. I reached out and asked if they one that was cropped a little bit differently and sure enough, they did! I am so glad I asked and I couldn’t be happier with how the cover came togeth

WHAT I’M UP TO …
It’s been both a fun and challenging week! I started planning and writing my latest book and planning the next series, which is always great fun. I also attended a really cool networking event with my cousin and ran across a fellow Loon (Heated Rivalry fan, if you’re not familiar with the lingo). I met someone who is going to introduce to me to a sapphic writer in the Michigan area, so it will be nice to connect with more local queer authors. I also got taken out by a migrain

WHAT I’M UP TO …
Can you believe it’s March already?? I’m in ‘prep for Sports Romance Con’ mode this week! I’m getting everything organized for that, like making sure paperbacks are on their way to Minneapolis, swag is ordered, and trying to come up with an outtake or bonus short I could write as an incentive for people who sign up for this newsletter. So far, I’m drawing a blank though. Not to worry though, if I do come up with some ideas, you’ll definitely be able to read it as well. So, if

WHAT I’M UP TO …
Thank you to everyone who’s sent supportive messages about me closing my shop last Friday to stand in solidarity with Minneapolis. I suspect it’s something I will need to do again in the future, and I will keep you updated about when that happens. In the meantime, I’m still in Albuquerque. My bestie and I went for a snowy hike in the Sandia Mountains and drove up to Santa Fe to go thrift/consignment store shopping with a friend of ours. We also went for a hike in the Jeme

ILLUSTRATED SPECIAL EDITIONS
I know many of you love illustrated covers and I’ve been working with my illustrator, Colleen, to create special editions of both the Rules of the Game and #Relationship Goals series. It’s been a labor of love and took a lot longer than I had hoped (that’s on me, not Colleen!) but I am so thrilled with the way they turned out. In addition to the gorgeous covers, the special editions will also have custom interior formatting. I will be bringing copies of them to Sports

NATIONAL SHUTDOWN
If you’ve read my books or spent any amount of time getting to know me, you should know by now that I do not support this administration, ICE, or anything that is being done to the people of Minneapolis (or anywhere else). If you were somehow previously unaware, I want to make it abundantly clear that if you support what they are doing to people in Minneapolis, I have no interest in your readership. Writing and reading is inherently political. As a queer person, as some

TWERKING GOALIES, GROWLY CAPTAINS, AND A BRAND-NEW BONUS
It’s hard to believe it’s been a year since I first released Goaltender Interference ! Connor and Jesse were such a joy to write, and I really love this Boston team. Although I didn’t plan it purposely, their book release landed in the same week as Kiss a Ginger Day. Jesse enthusiastically kisses a ginger every day, so he’s a huge fan of the celebration. I had originally planned to just write up a little post about it and tell you about how much I enjoy these two and

DELAYED PENALTY IS LIVE!
I am so excited to share Thad & Graham’s story with you. I have been wanting to tell it since I started planning the series and Gavin’s brother mysteriously appeared. Getting in Thad’s head was such an interesting experience and I hope you love how swoony he and Graham are together. Thad’s adult life was rough until he landed in Boston. Finding a safe place in the Harriers, reuniting with his brother, and being loved by Graham is exactly what he needed to heal. The beauty o

WHAT I’M UP TO …
I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving, if you celebrated. Mine was just my parents and I, but we did the full Thanksgiving spread. We also did our annual family doughnut party on Sunday with the extended family. I got to see two of my cousins and their families and my parents are continuing the traditions my mom’s parents started, which is really fun. It was great to catch up and the kids (many of whom are in college/graduating now!) have fun helping my dad fry the doughnut

20% OFF ALL HOLIDAY BUNDLES
It’s been a bit of a wild week for me. Lots of things going sideways on me as I try to prepare for the holiday craziness ahead. I’m trying to take lots of deep breaths and just deal with everything as it comes but YIKES. I also have jury duty December 1-19 (which includes my birthday on the 18 th 😿). While I would normally be more than willing to participate, this is the WORST possible timing. I’m crossing my fingers I don’t get picked and if you can send a few good vibes,
