WHAT I’M UP TO …
I hope you’re doing well! I’ll be honest, this was a rough week. I was glad to finish Cheap Shot but the current men’s US hockey situation has me feeling very angry. See yesterday’s post for more on that. I also attended an anti-ICE protest and began prepping for Sports Romance Con in a few weeks. I will be watching sled hockey in the upcoming Paralympics and I am really looking forward to that. I will begin planning the sixth and final book in the Scoring Chances series a

WHAT I’M UP TO …
I am back in Michigan and settling in. It’s been a little bit of a weird schedule for me because I’m thoroughly immersed in Olympic hockey. I’ve been watching both men’s and women’s hockey and rooting for Team Canada for both. It’s been a lot of fun, even if it’s very very stressful. I think the OT win for the men’s team against Czechia almost killed me. I am also very excited to announce that Delayed Penalty is available in audio. If you haven't listened to the rest of

THAD & GRAHAM – IN AUDIO
James Edward Jones did an incredible job recording Delayed Penalty and I enjoyed listening to every second of it. Want to know how much readers love the story? "Graham and Thad share an emotional journey as they both navigate their new feelings for each other and the changes this brings to their lives. But when you find true love, it is worth it." "I can honestly say, this is my favorite of this series, and one of my top five of all Vaughn's books." "... loo

CELEBRATE LOVE – BRIGHAM VAUGHN SHOP SALE
Thank you so much for the love on the special edition covers for the Rules of the Game and #Relationship Goals series. I will pass the love along to Colleen who is currently hard at work on the illustrations for the Scoring Chances guys. Several of you asked if I will be doing illustrated editions for those and the answer is yes! I don’t have an exact timeline on that yet but she’s currently working on the Slew Foot guys. I will also be working on Harriers’ merch for

Thank you to everyone who’s sent supportive messages about me closing my shop last Friday to stand in solidarity with Minneapolis. I suspect it’s something I will need to do again in the future, and I will keep you updated about when that happens. In the meantime, I’m still in Albuquerque. My bestie and I went for a snowy hike in the Sandia Mountains and drove up to Santa Fe to go thrift/consignment store shopping with a friend of ours. We also went for a hike in the Jeme

ILLUSTRATED SPECIAL EDITIONS
I know many of you love illustrated covers and I’ve been working with my illustrator, Colleen, to create special editions of both the Rules of the Game and #Relationship Goals series. It’s been a labor of love and took a lot longer than I had hoped (that’s on me, not Colleen!) but I am so thrilled with the way they turned out. In addition to the gorgeous covers, the special editions will also have custom interior formatting. I will be bringing copies of them to Sports

WHAT I’M UP TO …
If you’re in the US, I hope you made it through the storm safely and I am sending big hugs to everyone who is trying to cope with what’s happening in Minnesota. I’m still in Albuquerque and doing my best to find joy in the midst of the horrors. We managed to miss the worst of the storm, but I did wake up on Sunday to two inches of snow. That’s pretty rare for this area so it made for a gorgeous walk around the neighborhood and then a beautiful hike in the foothills of the

NATIONAL SHUTDOWN
If you’ve read my books or spent any amount of time getting to know me, you should know by now that I do not support this administration, ICE, or anything that is being done to the people of Minneapolis (or anywhere else). If you were somehow previously unaware, I want to make it abundantly clear that if you support what they are doing to people in Minneapolis, I have no interest in your readership. Writing and reading is inherently political. As a queer person, as some

WHAT I’M UP TO …
Greetings from Albuquerque! I am having a great time hanging out with my friends. So far, I have gone on two hikes, to a museum, eaten some delicious food, written some words, and done some relaxing. I am having a blast and it’s so good to spend some time with my favorite people. Looking forward to several more weeks of vacation in New Mexico! Make sure you check out yesterday’s post because Beth Bolden stopped by to tell you about her latest release! Want to know what e

TWERKING GOALIES, GROWLY CAPTAINS, AND A BRAND-NEW BONUS
It’s hard to believe it’s been a year since I first released Goaltender Interference ! Connor and Jesse were such a joy to write, and I really love this Boston team. Although I didn’t plan it purposely, their book release landed in the same week as Kiss a Ginger Day. Jesse enthusiastically kisses a ginger every day, so he’s a huge fan of the celebration. I had originally planned to just write up a little post about it and tell you about how much I enjoy these two and

WHAT I’M UP TO …
It’s been quite a week! I went to not one, but TWO hockey games on Saturday. I took my parents to a noon game in Detroit to cheer on the Pittsburgh Penguins when they beat Detroit, then met up with a friend who had free tickets to a 7pm University of Michigan game where they beat the USNTDP (national development program) team. If you want to see my adventures, check out my pics on Instagram . I am also preparing for my annual trip to Albuquerque to visit my bestie and her fam

DATE IN A PINCH - NOW IN AUDIO
I got so excited about the idea of Date in a Pinch coming to audio that I forgot that many of you started with my hockey books and aren’t familiar with what came before them! I created a fictional small town on the shores of Lake Michigan called Pendleton Bay. The town may look quaint and charming, but there's a naughty side underneath. It's a place where ordinary guys find their kinky happily ever afters . Neil, a sweet and inexperienced submissive, gets an unexpected n

WHAT I’M UP TO …
I hope you enjoyed your holidays! Mine were good. I went to a game night with friends on New Year’s Eve and then hung out with another friend I haven’t seen in a while on New Year’s Day. Nothing too crazy but it was a really fun and relaxing way to ring in the new year. If you want to read about how I wrapped up 2025 and how I am planning to start 2026, read yesterday’s post here . Want to know what else I’ve been up to? Writing: Cheap Shot is coming together nicely!

WRAPPING UP 2025
It’s difficult to wrap up a year like this one. It was a struggle most of the way through for me in so many ways. Losing my friend Helena at the end of last year, losing my aunt, losing a friend … I carried a lot of grief with me. The state of the world in general and of the United States in particular caused an enormous amount of stress. And yet, there were bright spots. Running the shop in addition to my writing was challenging but fun overall. I had a few misstep

I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving, if you celebrated. Mine was just my parents and I, but we did the full Thanksgiving spread. We also did our annual family doughnut party on Sunday with the extended family. I got to see two of my cousins and their families and my parents are continuing the traditions my mom’s parents started, which is really fun. It was great to catch up and the kids (many of whom are in college/graduating now!) have fun helping my dad fry the doughnut

20% OFF ALL HOLIDAY BUNDLES
It’s been a bit of a wild week for me. Lots of things going sideways on me as I try to prepare for the holiday craziness ahead. I’m trying to take lots of deep breaths and just deal with everything as it comes but YIKES. I also have jury duty December 1-19 (which includes my birthday on the 18 th 😿). While I would normally be more than willing to participate, this is the WORST possible timing. I’m crossing my fingers I don’t get picked and if you can send a few good vibes,

WHAT I’M UP TO …
Things are humming along around here. I took a couple of days off writing to focus on some admin work that’s been lingering on my To Do list. It feels so good to get that all checked off. I also finished my heirloom pumpkin puzzle and started a woodland wildlife one. I really enjoyed watching the Global Series in Stockholm Sweden last weekend. The Pittsburgh Penguins played the Nashville Predators twice there and it was really fun to see the behind the scenes social media con

CHRISTMAS FALLS – SPECIAL EDITIONS
Although we won’t be doing another Christmas Falls season this year, we do have something special for you. Along with DJ Jamison, Beth Bolden, Rye Cox, and Jacki James, I worked with the amazing artist Lauren Dombrowski to create illustrated covers for some of the Christmas Falls titles. We had a great time creating these special edition paperbacks and I couldn’t be happier with the way the cover for Scrooge You! turned out. Aren’t Hayden & Joel adorable ? And I love

WHAT I’M UP TO …
Hope you’re having a good week. Mine has been a little chaotic (really feeling that Mercury in Retrograde energy right now …) but I’ve gotten a lot done. I bought and assembled a comfy new desk chair because my previous one was getting so old. The cushion was losing its supportiveness and the latch that lets me lean back in it/lock it upright went on the fritz. I figured it was time to get something more comfortable. My humidifier and my garment steamer both died too. L
