WHAT I’M UP TO …
Once again, life has been a little bonkers (just typed binkers, which made me giggle for some reason).
There are still some migraines happening and I can’t WAIT until my appointment later this month. My keyboard randomly decided it no longer needed to work, so I had to wait for a new one to arrive.
Last week, my PA, Kim, and the people in her household all had Covid, so Kim & I threw in the towel and said, “fuck it, we’re doing the bare minimum”. Usually that includes the newsletter but that was too much for either of us to handle.
I do appreciate your continued understanding about what’s going on! Your kind messages have been so nice to get.
I did manage to do a few fun and relaxing things in between the exploding head/misbehaving keyboard though.
I got together with a friend for the Autumn Equinox and we enjoyed a little cheeseboard and delicious popcorn and tea while we hacked up old candles and melted them into new ones. It was a ton of fun and I now have a hilarious photo of me grinning and clutching a giant chef’s knife. Good times!
As I mentioned in the last email, I also went to a Linda Perry and Indigo Girls concert with a friend. I had a migraine during that, which was less than ideal, but because of the weather/low attendance, we got upgraded from the lawn tickets to the pavilion. It was a great show and after it was over, we left our seats to a recording of Dolly Parton singing 9-5. The entire crowd sang along, and it was a really joyful way to end the night.
The hockey season has officially started. The Penguins kicked it off with a 7-0 shutout over the Flyers which felt great after they knocked us out of the first round of the playoffs last season. It’s always a fun rivalry!
Want to know what else I’ve been up to?
Writing:
Christmas at O’Neill’s is nearly done! I just have a few more chapters left to wrap everything up. I’ll be sending it to beta readers soon!
Audio:
James finished recording Game Misconduct audio chapters and it is now available. Check out yesterday's post for info about it.
James will begin recording Preston’s Christmas Escape in audio next week!
Shop:
Work on the shop has slowed down a little but I am still hard at work on team gear and O’Neill’s Pub merch. The pub logo I got is so gooood.
I have some exciting audio news coming next week, so keep an eye out for that.
Events:
I’ll be selling and signing books at Hockey Romance Night with the Grand Rapids Griffins on October 18 at Van Andel Arena. Tickets are on sale and there are only a few left! You MUST have a ticket to attend the signing. I will have a pre-order form up on Beventi soon.
I will also be attending Sports Romance Con from Fri, June 25, 2027 — 12:00 PM CDT to Sun, June 27, 2027. I will let you know when tickets are available for that.
See you here next week!
