As soon as I finish writing Christmas at O’Neill’s, I’ll be diving into The Neutral Zone Series!
It’ll be a six-book series featuring the New York Rockets. The first book will be called Game Delay and features Nicholas (Nicky) Calhoun and Beauregard (Mac) Major McCann III.
Nicky, a (semi) closeted gay man, is captain of the NY Rockets. Following a terrible concussion, he struggles with persistent post-concussion symptoms. When he returns from a prolonged absence, he realizes he has to step up, change the locker room culture, and prove to everyone that he’s not a washed-up player.
Mac, a bisexual single dad and host of the Liftoff podcast, has been saying for years that the Rockets team needs to move on from Nicky Calhoun.
He’s why they haven’t amounted to much of anything in years, despite the talent on the roster.
When Nicky & Mac are forced to work together as volunteers for a kid’s skating charity, sparks fly. What Mac doesn’t know is that despite calling Nicky washed up, his voice was the lifeline that got Nicky through the worst of his concussions ...
