WHAT I’M UP TO …
I wish I could tell you that life has totally calmed down but, alas, it has not. You probably guess that when you didn’t get a message from me last week. I’ve had a few migraines (boo!) and my mom had to go to the emergency room via an ambulance after passing out and falling. She wasn’t hurt but given her age, they had to be thoroughly checked out to be sure it wasn’t a heart attack or stroke. She came home the next day but it took about a week to figure out the diagnosis. It

WHAT I’M UP TO …
I know you’re probably confused about why my newsletters have been so erratic lately, but life has been a little wild. Some good, some bad. My migraines were truly terrible at the end of August. Thank you for all of your kind words and suggestions. The wild shifts in barometric pressure have settled a little in the past week and I don’t want to jinx it, but my migraines have been better since. Not gone, but a lot better. That’s one of the really positive things. The other p

WHAT I’M UP TO …
Can you believe it’s August?? My brain is still somewhere back in May … The good news is that my foot is looking MUCH better. It’s been a little over two weeks since I slipped and fell on the stairs. I am so grateful that it wasn’t anything more serious than a soft tissue injury because the swelling has all gone down and the wildly colored bruises are gone. It just looks like my normal foot now! The bad news is that there’s been a plumbing disaster. There’s currently a hole

TANNER VERNON CLAYTON!
I really feel for Leif when, early on in the book, he thinks the following about Tanner: Trying to keep him on track would be a full-time job, Leif thought. Thank fuck it’ll never be me who has to worry about it. Wrangling Tanner really is a full-time job! Writing his book has been a lesson in taking a lot of deep breaths, being okay with side quests, and just trusting that everything will happen in the right time. I can’t blame him for my migraines (which have also slowed d

WIP WEDNESDAY - GAME MISCONDUCT
As his teammates piled on to celebrate their win, Leif glanced over at Tanner who was staring at him with narrowed eyes. Allowing himself a moment of pettiness, Leif puckered up and blew him a kiss across the ice. Series: Scoring Chances Title: Game Misconduct Book #: 6 Couple: Tanner Clayton & Leif Rasmussen Team: The Boston Harriers Release Date: August 7, 2026

WHAT I’M UP TO …
Although I was very much looking forward to resting and recharging at the cottage last week, that was cut very short by the wildfires (see yesterday's post for details on that). Climate change is impacting us all and it’s very worrisome to imagine how much worse it will get in the future. I tried to rest and recharge at home the best I could, but I am still teetering on the edge of burnout and am not quite sure how I’m going to deal with that. Given the state of the world, i

WHAT I’M UP TO …
I am currently writing this almost a week ahead, because by the time you get this, I will be at the cottage! Not that cottage, but I am spending the week at my best friend’s family cottage with her, her kids, and her parents. It’s an annual tradition and I love it so much. It’s supposed to be HOT (hitting 100°F!) by mid-week and I am planning to pretty much roll out of bed and into the lake. As someone who loves the water and grew up on a lake, spending a huge amount of time

WHAT I’M UP TO …
Hockey season is officially over with the Hurricane’s Stanley Cup win. I don’t know if any of you are Vegas Golden Knight fans but I think we can all agree that seeing Carter Hart fall apart at the end was very satisfying after the league worked so hard to get a horrible person back on the ice. I wasn’t really rooting for Carolina either but I DID root for Seth Jarvis. He’s an absolute ball of chaos with a delightful friend group and although he wasn’t who I pictured when I c

WHAT I’M UP TO …
As many of you know, the Pens got eliminated from the playoffs. I was very sad but honestly, making it to the playoffs at all was a gift. The entire season they had was a gift. Last fall, they were predicted to be the worst team in the league. Making it to the playoffs with Sid, Geno, and Tanger all there and healthy was impressive and I am so glad they got that again. I had to mourn for a bit and step away from hockey. While I did, I worked on puzzles, plus went hiking and s

WHAT I’M UP TO …
It’s Wednesday when I’m writing this and my beloved Penguins are struggling in the postseason. They’ve lost the first two games against Philly and let me tell you, I was NOT prepared for this. Apparently, neither was my mom because the other day she said, "You need to tell them to get it together! I was counting on them for some happiness because the rest of the world is pretty awful right now. They're just going to have to win the Stanley Cup. For my sake." I replied, "I'

Can you believe it’s March already?? I’m in ‘prep for Sports Romance Con’ mode this week! I’m getting everything organized for that, like making sure paperbacks are on their way to Minneapolis, swag is ordered, and trying to come up with an outtake or bonus short I could write as an incentive for people who sign up for this newsletter. So far, I’m drawing a blank though. Not to worry though, if I do come up with some ideas, you’ll definitely be able to read it as well. So, if
