WHAT I’M UP TO …

So, this has been a rough week, huh? Let’s all take a deep breath, hold it for a few seconds, then breathe out slowly together.
It’s been incredibly hard to focus on writing and promoting books. Lately, I’ve been able to create some compartmentalization where I do what I can, when I can (calling reps, showing up to protests, making donations) but try to be 100% present for my writing and all of the other parts of being an author.
Some of it comes from spite. I REFUSE to let the shitty, bigoted people in our government ruin my joy. I love what I do. I love what I write and feel incredibly lucky to be able to do this for a living. Letting them steal that joy is not something I’ll allow.
But I was tested this week. Turns out impending nuclear disaster and the destruction of entire civilizations is my tipping point? In the end, that’s a good thing. It means I’m a human with a conscience who cares about what’s happening in the world.
So, I’m back at it. Trying to muster up the energy to promote a book.
The thing is, I REALLY love Luke & Sebastian’s book. I have been wanting to tell it for YEARS.
Want to see what else I’ve been working on? Keep reading.
Writing:
I had to re-work the first 10k words of Tanner & Leif’s story, Game Misconduct. This comes as no surprise because I expect Tanner to throw a wrench in every single plan I make for this story, so, you know, that’s fun!
