WHAT I’M UP TO …

A seafoam green coffee cup is in front of a hand holding a pen writing in a notebook. The text reads, "WHAT I'M UP TO..." and the date.

Thank you so much for all of the love you’ve already sent for Tanner & Leif’s book. I am so thrilled that you enjoyed it!

I wish I could tell you that the week after the Game Misconduct release was all smooth sailing, but if I did, I’d be lying. On Monday I got walloped by a migraine. It didn’t really lift until late Wednesday and as I write this on Thursday, I am still very tired.

It’s the worst one I’ve had in over a year and, unfortunately, it’s my own fault. Rather than run errands on Friday evening like I usually do, I stayed home to rest. This meant I forgot to pick up the hormone replacement therapy patch I use to deal with perimenopause symptoms. I wound up picking it up about a day and a half late and by then, my hormones were apparently all over the place.

Fluctuating hormones and barometric pressure combined for a really, really bad migraine. I spent about two and a half days resting as much as possible. I played around on Pinterest and did some coloring and junk journaling. The whole idea of junk journaling makes me laugh because it’s something my best friend and I did all of the time in high school. But it’s a good screen-free, creative activity that I can do from my bed or the couch.

I also listened to podcasts and watched the first episode of the new season of Ted Lasso. I then decided I wanted more of it, so I went back and re-watched the first season.

I still think Roy/Jamie/Keeley should have been a thing …

But I am back to work now, although I am still trying to treat myself very gently and rest, hydrate, sleep well, and not push myself too hard to get caught back up.

See you here next week!
