WHAT I’M UP TO …

This week has been a very mixed bag for me.  


I had a fabulous time going to the Motown Museum in Detroit with a friend. I loved learning the history of it and seeing some amazing memorabilia. We also checked out a community garden, a cute little shop and had lunch at the Detroit Shipping Company. It’s a really neat food hall with half a dozen restaurants and a bar inside a space made from recycled shipping containers.

In much rougher news, a friend died very unexpectedly.  


He’s someone I’ve known online for over twenty years, so it was a real blow. He was a fabulous cook and perfected the most amazing key lime pie recipe. He shared it with a very limited number of people and made us swear that we’d never divulge it to anyone, so I feel very privileged that he shared it with me all those years ago.  


It’s the ONLY key lime pie recipe I’ve used for almost two decades and I plan to make one in his honor sometime in the next few weeks. It’s so sad to lose good people like him and on top of the other people I’ve lost this year, it’s been rough.

In the meantime, want to know what else I’ve been working on? 


Writing 


  • I started writing book #4 in the Scoring Chances series and it is flowing nicely so far! I’m over 12% into it and I expect to release it in mid-December. No, it’s not holiday themed.  


Editing: 


  • Beta readers are finished with Slew Foot. I got feedback from one of them saying, “They are just the most adorable cuddly characters I think you’ve ever written. They just make me think of big fluffy puppies that I want to scritch and cuddle” and I love that so much! 


  • The book is currently with my editor, and I already have a message from her saying, “Really enjoying it! Love Mickey and Rafe ❤️” so I am feeling VERY good about where that’s at. I know you will love them too. 


Audio: 


  • The Body Check audio is done and the files for that are downloaded. Kim’s getting them all set up on BookFunnel and planning the ARC release so we’re good to go for the September 1st release!


  • Since Slew Foot isn’t quite ready for James to record, he’s working on TWO audio bonus shorts that will be available when they’re done. One will be available for free, the other will be available to purchase on my shop. No dates on those yet but I’ll keep you updated.
