DIARY ENTRY – RAFAEL MOON

Dear Diary, 

Mickey is SO NICE.  

I was such a fucking mess yesterday. After the storm and the delays and canceled flights, my plane got in so late, and I barely knew which direction was up when I got to the arena. Mickey showed me where everything was, got me up to speed on as much as he could, and then asked if I wanted to go with him to O’Neill’s Pub for the New Year’s Eve celebration.  

I feel like kind of an ass because I totally assumed he was asking me out. He was definitely just asking me if I wanted a ride there and to hang out together. facepalm 

I dunno, Logan—my ex—and I started out as friends, so I guess I just got my wires crossed there? I mean, I am demi so, like, I always start out as friends with guys I date.  

But yeah. I feel like a dumbass.   

He was nice about that part of it too. He didn’t make me feel bad or anything it’s just … gah.  

Oh! The rest of the team is great too. I don’t know how I feel about the captain dating the franchise goalie and the GM dating the yoga/Pilates instructor because man did stuff get BAD in Minnesota after Logan I broke up and I’d hate to see things get fucked up here like that.  

But the guys seem great! It was fun hanging out at the pub last night.  

I’m kinda hazy on the details because I got way drunker than I planned. I was so tired, and the shots hit way harder than I expected.  

God, I’m so embarrassed.   

I’m pretty sure Mickey had to bring me back to my hotel. He hung up my clothes and everything!  

And now he’s downstairs in the hotel lobby café waiting for me to get ready. I feel bad because I totally overslept and probably wouldn’t have woken up in time for practice if he hadn’t called.  

Seriously, I haven’t even been here for twenty-four hours, and he’s already saved my ass a couple of times.  

I’m so lucky to have him as my new D-partner …
