A seafoam green coffee cup is in front of a hand holding a pen writing in a notebook. The text reads, "WHAT I'M UP TO..." and the date.

By the time you read this, I will be back home in Michigan!

I had a lovely time in New Mexico.

Unfortunately, my bestie has had a bit of a rough time lately. She had to put her cat down and lost both her uncle and one of her neighbors in the span of a week and a half or so. It was a tough one, but I was glad I could be there for her during it.

We made the best of it though and drove up to the top of the Sandia Mountains to view the city from the crest at 10,000 feet, met up with a couple of my readers from New Mexico over coffee, watched Frankenstein, took a very muddy hike in the east mountains, ate some delicious food, did some thrift store shopping, and had game night with friends.

As usual, the month flew by. Despite the sad moments, I had a wonderful time with my favorite people. It’s not the same as seeing them once a week like I did when they lived 45 minutes away, but I feel so lucky to have this opportunity to spend this time with them.

  • Cheap Shot is not quite done as of the time I’m writing this newsletter. Writing is going a little slower than originally planned but I love the way it’s coming together and we’re still on track for the April release so I feel great about that.
