TREES & FLOWERS

It’s spring, and although we’ve already had some hellishly hot days here in Michigan, we’ve also had some lovely ones that feel like a nice relaxing spring day should. Sunny, but cool with a light breeze.
On Sunday, I went for a three-mile hike. The trees are nearly all leafed out and the wildflowers were blooming and it was great to be out in the fresh air. I have plans to go hiking with a friend in a couple of weeks as well and I am really looking forward to it.
You may have heard me mention this before, but every year when I was a kid, my mom, my grandma, and I would go to a greenhouse at the beginning of May. It was a lovely annual tradition that mom and I’ve kept up in the nearly twenty years since my grandma’s been gone.
We went on Tuesday and bought some flowers, herbs, and vegetables, and had a really nice day out.
Every few months, I kind of get into a rut and feel a little blah and a little stuck. It’s amazing how a few trips out to do fun things like this can really give me the creative kick in the pants I need!
