NATIONAL SHUTDOWN

If you’ve read my books or spent any amount of time getting to know me, you should know by now that I do not support this administration, ICE, or anything that is being done to the people of Minneapolis (or anywhere else).
If you were somehow previously unaware, I want to make it abundantly clear that if you support what they are doing to people in Minneapolis, I have no interest in your readership.
Writing and reading is inherently political.
As a queer person, as someone who writes queer romance, as someone who has BIPOC friends and family, as someone who has friends who are immigrants, and most importantly as someone who believes in human decency, I will not stand silently by while this happens.
Every book I write is about people striving to do better, be more open-minded, and make the world a better place.
It is about personal growth and love and queer joy.
It’s about a world where terrible things exist but people are working to stop them.
My books are about hope for a better future.
A world that is more tolerant, more accepting, and more loving.
It will never be about hatred or fear.
About “othering” people.
If you support this administration and their blatantly racist, homophobic, and xenophobic policies, you are not welcome in the fictional world I’ve created.
In support of the people of Minnesota (and other communities) who are standing up against ICE, I will be taking part in the general strike on Friday, January 30th.
My shop will be closed in solidarity.
If you were planning to purchase something from me, please consider using the money you would have spent on my shop and support mutual aid organizations in your community or others that are impacted.
In addition to closing my shop, I will taking the day off from work and not shopping/buying anything. Unfortunately, I am not able to pause/stop sales on Amazon or Audible, but I encourage you to not purchase anything from there on Friday either.
You can find more information about the shutdown here although I would discourage you from signing up/adding yourself to any list just to be safe.
Please take part if you can.
