Tomorrow is the first day of June, which means it’s the official start of Pride Month!
That also means it’s my busiest time of year. This year, I’ll be taking part in five different in-person author events! I am incredibly excited about all of them.
Here’s a little information about what each one will entail. Click on the event name for a link to the organization’s page.
June 1 (1:00 – 8:00 pm) – Ferndale Pride:
This is the fourth year I’ve taken part in the Pride event in Ferndale, Michigan. I’ll have a table set up at the street fair and be selling and signing paperbacks and giving away prizes. Just look for the Michigan LGBTQ Authors Sign!
June 8 (2:00 – 4:00 pm) – Everybody Reads Bookstore Reading and Signing:
This will be the first bookstore reading/signing event I’ve taken part in and I am super excited about it! They’re holding an LGBT Author Day and fellow Michigan authors David Pratt, Nick Poff, and Stephen Schmidt will be attending. We’ll each do a short reading from our books. I’m going to read an excerpt from “The Ghosts Between Us” and I am really looking forward to it. We will also have our books available for sale and we’ll be happy to sign them!
June 15 (1:00 – 10:00 pm) – Michigan Pride:
This will be my second year at Michigan Pride in Lansing, Michigan. I had a wonderful time last year and will be joined by fellow Michigan LGBTQ Authors Hank Edwards and David Pratt. Like at Ferndale Pride, I’ll have a table set up at the street fair and be selling and signing paperbacks and giving away prizes. Just look for the Michigan LGBTQ Authors Sign!
June 22 (2:00 – 3:30 pm AND 5:00 – 6:30 pm) Barnes & Noble Book Pride Discussion Panel & Signing:
I am so thrilled to take part in this event. There will be two opportunities for you to join me. I’ll be at the Battle Creek, Michigan Barnes & Noble from 2:00 – 3:30 pm and at the Portage, Michigan location from 5:00 – 6:30 pm.
Each event will include a book pride discussion panel with authors, librarians, and community leaders on diversity and inclusivity in books, the media, and our communities, followed by a Q & A, and book signing. Those Barnes & Noble locations will have my paperbacks available for purchase.
The content will be the same at both the Battle Creek and Portage locations, so feel free to attend whichever is more convenient for you!
June 29 (12:00 – 5:00 pm) Great Lakes Bay Pride:
This will be the first year I’ll attend Great Lakes Bay Pride Festival in Bay City, Michigan, but I am very excited about it. Hank Edwards and Marshall Thornton will be attending as well. We will have a table set up in Wenoah Park and will be selling and signing paperbacks and giving away prizes. Just look for the Michigan LGBTQ Authors Sign!
