A QUICK HELLO ...

This has been a tough, tough week for me so I’m just sending a quick note.

My migraines have been especially challenging, and I’ve spent more of the week recovering than working.

I have doctor’s appointments coming up and we’ll keep trying to nail down treatments and preventatives that work for me. There’s no cure, I’ll spend my whole life managing this, but I am hopeful that I can find some new things to help do that.

Much of what I’ve done so far HAS helped. The migraine attacks are less severe than they were last summer (even if they have frustratingly frequent) so I am hopeful we can find something that shifts the frequency as well.

Until then, rest, self-care, and using what treatments I do have are my best bet.

The good news is, I am taking vacation 2.0 this Sunday through Monday!

After my interrupted lake cottage vacation with my best friend and her family in July, I started to think about what else I could do. In the end, I booked 4 days at a little cottage overlooking Lake Huron.

It’s somewhere my bestie and I went together a few times before she moved to New Mexico and it’s really lovely.

This time I’m going solo.

I will be writing in the mornings, but I have plans to read, do some journaling, check out some nearby shops, maybe do a little wine tasting, and relax by the water. I want to enjoy the last of summer before we transition to my favorite season.

There may be a bit of rain (a few days ago it was predicting four days of thunderstorms!) while I’m there but as of right now, the forecast is looking much more migraine friendly so I am hopeful that I can enjoy my time there, rest, recharge, focus on what I really love (being by the water and writing!) and put my energy into moving forward.

I hope you have a lovely, healthy week and we’ll return to our regularly scheduled programming soon.
