First Round of Edits

I got my first round of edits back from the publisher, and I have to say, it was much less terrifying than I expected.  I cringed opening up the doc, expecting it to be absolutely covered in (metaphorical) red ink, and was pleasantly surprised to see that it was nowhere near as bad as I thought it would be.

I give all credit to the people I had read through this for me.  Over the course of the story, I had at least six sets of eyes look over the story, in addition to my own.  Which just goes to show you that you really can never have too many people checking for errors.

Overall, I thought the editing process is off to a great start and I am excited to take the next step.

Now, I just need to remember to work on my comma splices, using last vs. past, and avoiding “potentially distracting disembodied-part imagery”.  Yeah, don’t ask.  *cringes*
